So, my wish has finally come true because Indiblogger in association with Berger Paints has finally organized an Indi-meet in years in  the city of joy! Naturally, I kept re-reading the email about the event out of excitement when it first came to me to make sure the venue is Kolkata :p. I cannot thank Indiblogger enough for organizing this grand meet for the bloggers of Kolkata on 12th September, Saturday. The whole Indiblogger team gave amazing effort to make this event a successful one. I must admit that everything was arranged very wonderfully, from the themed decor in pink-white and purple, the photo booth, the goodie bags to the food counter, everything was pretty and perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening with the fellow bloggers from the city.

The event started at the Oberoi Grande with registration at 4 pm where we had to log in and wear badges with our twitter handle written on it. We also got free wifi so that we could update what’s happening in the event with the hashtag #BergerXP! After the warm “hi-s” and “hello-s” with my co-bloggers, I posed for  few pictures in the photo booth and  chatted with my  fellow  bloggers over a cup of steaming hot coffee accompanied with delicious cookies and kebabs. About an hour later, we all went inside, took seats and the program started formally. There were three giant screens , two of which displayed live twitter feeds.

After a brief introduction session about the bloggers and the “best photography” awards, we got to see a small presentation from Berger Paints about their innovative technology in painting where they claim to provide dust free painting by using advanced coloring tools to paint. We got to know about the benefits and usage of sanding machine, airless paint sprayer, multi-purpose mixer, auto roller and high- pressure washer for a hassle free express painting from Berger.

Next we moved on to the group activity part, all the bloggers were supposed to form a team of eight but unfortunately, we had seven members only. We named our team “We are Seven”. Each team had to do two activities, one was sanding, where all the members had to rub an uneven surface with a piece of sandpaper to make the area smooth. We took the lowest time for the activity, 15 seconds only. The next part was painting for a social cause and talking about it. We chose dowry as the topic and did that activity pretty well too. The other teams also did wonderful paintings.

After a short break, the name of the winning team was announced and prizes for different activities was given. Luckily, I bagged the “Social Media Kingpin” award and won a Microsoft power bank. Finally, we all headed for the sumptuous dinner and collected our goodie bags before saying goodbye to everyone and leaving for the day.

The memories of the meet will remain fresh in my mind forever. It was wonderful meeting so many talented bloggers from the city. I hope Indiblogger will come up with more such Indimeets in Kolkata soon.
